Onegin is pure emotion! This ballet is emotional magic enriched, this time, by an unprecedented event. For the first time, Superintendent Dominique Meyer and Manuel Legris, on Wednesday 8 November, appointed Nicoletta Manni étoile, at the end of the second performance of Onegin. The immortal and stupendous music of Tchaikovsky is directed by Simon Hewett. The sets and costumes are by Pier Luigi Samaritani and Roberta Guidi Di Bagno.
John Cranko translated into a dramatic love story on points the famous novel by Aleksandr Pushkin, Onegin, a ballet in three acts, tells the story of a dandy who carries on an unhappy love affair dragged from youth to maturity.
The Main Interpreters Roberto Bolle - by temperament so distant from the algid nature of this character - he sketches the figure of the cynical man with mastery and absolute interpretative power, not only of the body, but above all of the soul. In short, a poignant and engaging Onegin. Nicoletta Manni is a passionate Tat'jana, perfect in her movement and determined in her accents. Martina Arduino admirable as Olga brings to the stage an intense, precise and perfect performance. Nicola Del Freothe poet Lenskij, narrates the character powerfully; Prince Gremin, Tat'jana's husband, is a Gabriele Corrado incisive. The Corps de Ballet He captivates with the rigour that always distinguishes him in the many ensemble dances, well done everyone.
A great show, a splendid ballet, great emotion and well-deserved ovations and applause.
