Le Corsaire<\/b> comes to La Scala for the first time in the reinterpretation of Manuel Legris<\/b>the music is mainly by Adolphe Adam the conducting by Valery Ovsyanikov, <\/b>splendid sets and costumes by Luisa Spinatelli.<\/b><\/p>

Le Corsaire <\/b>is a true spectacle within a spectacle. A story of pirates and kidnappings that is intense, full of technique, virtuosity, energy, pathos and enthralling rocamboles that thrill the spectator. A ballet, in this version created by Manuel Legris, fresh and current with the inclusion of sections created for the Corps de Ballet such as the Dance of the Odalisques<\/i>, the Dance of the Corsair Women<\/i>together with original proposals by Marius Petipa (the Pirates' Dance and Le Jardin anim\u00e9) <\/i>in the original version performed in St. Petersburg in 1899.<\/p>

The protagonist of the story is the pirate Conrad who, during his raids, crosses paths with Medora, who is kidnapped by Lankedem, a slave trader, who wants to sell her, in exchange for money, to the Pasha Seyd. But the meeting of the eyes between Medora and Conrad is galactic and the events will intersect between escapes and kidnappings until the two lovers, after having set sail and been shipwrecked, manage to reach a safe harbour and crown their love.<\/p>

The performers are all commendable, starting with Nicoletta Manni a splendid Medora who exuded grace, sensuality, charm and great dancing
Timofej Andrijashenko an excellent Conrad. Claudio Coviello the corsair lieutenant Birbanto captivates with his variations. Marco Agostino, Lankedem captures the attention with his interpretation and virtuosity, but everyone is excellent.
The Corps de Ballet is always of great merit, as are the Academy students who framed the ensemble dances.<\/p>

The next casts will see Martina Arduino <\/b>with Nicola del Freo<\/b> e Alice Mariani <\/b>with Mattia Semperboni.<\/b><\/p>

In summary a very interesting show that I enjoyed on two consecutive evenings with the same cast, I would have seen it a third time with a different cast, but all performances are sold out.\u00a0 <\/span>So I will see it again on www.lascalatv.it<\/span><\/a> streaming.<\/p>
